Analytical methodology for quantifying bioactive compounds in Lepidium meyenii to leverage its supply for export

About the project

The project sought to identify maca varieties with the highest content of biologically active compounds, by developing a method to analyze bioactive metabolites. Different pure compounds were obtained to achieve this, and a chromatographic methodology was developed that allowed for their quantification in the tissues. Compounds were tested in mice for their biological activity.
