Analysis of the High-Andean and Amazon forest ecosystem function to understand carbon dynamic and its response to climate change / Tropical forest in the changing earth system T-FORCES

About the project

An interdisciplinary project led by the University of Leeds, it aims at building a Pan-Tropical Forest Function Observatory to explore the forest response to global change. Long-term field observations of forest dynamics were developed in Asia, Africa, Australia and South America, integrating them with complementary approaches, including high-frequency climate sensitivity measurement of different components in the carbon cycle. The project worked with partners in tropical nations toward shared scientific goals to document key change patterns, impacts, and processes up to that point, and thus to better understand the threat to forests stemming from global change.
