It is a brief synthesis of topics addressed in the International Seminar on “Sustainable Cities and Climate Change”, held in Lima, from September 17 to 19 2014. Here, the experiences of twelve countries were shared (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States, France, the Netherlands, Mexico, South Africa and Peru). The debate focused mainly on eight key aspects to face climate change in cities: strategies and instruments for planning, risk management, integrated management of water resources, ecosystems and urban biodiversity, mobility and sustainable transport, sustainable construction and energy efficiency, financing for adaptation and mitigation, and governance against climate change in cities.
